Jerome Township is governed by a board composed of three elected trustees. The trustees adopt resolutions; approve the annual budget, payrolls and bills; and set policy for the township.
Ronald L. Rhodes (Term: January 2012 to December 31, 2015)
Ron Rhodes has been a Jerome Township resident for thirty-four years. During those years he has served as a Jerome Township Trustee for eighteen years, a Board of Zoning Appeals member for six years, and a Zoning Commssion member for four years. Mr. Rhodes has also served as a Jerome Township Firefighter since the inception of the department in 1992. Mr. Rhodes has been married for thirty-nine years with two married children living in Columbus, Ohio and Castle Rock, Colorado and has tree grandchildren. Mr. Rhodes education includes The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; Capital University, Columbus, Ohio; and Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio. He is a member of the new California Presbyterian Church for thirty-two years. He is also a member of Urania No. 311 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Aladin Temple Shrine. Mr. Rhodes owned and operated an apple orchard for fifteen years.
C J Lovejoy (Term: January 2014 – December 31, 2017)
I am 26 years old and have been married to my wife Brittany for three years. We have a daughter, Lacey, and a son, Jaxon. I am a 2006 Jonathan Alder High School Graduate. I have been a lifelong Jerome Township resident who is a fourth generation manager/operator of my family’s business, Lovejoy’s Market IGA, in Plain City. I have been working in the grocery store since I was a young boy and have progressed into making the business my life. I understand that taking care of customers in my business is the most important thing I can do. The fundamentals and leadership I have developed will transition to Jerome Township as I am your elected Township Trustee.
Lonnie (Joe) Craft (Term: January 2014 – December 31, 2017)
Lonnie “Joe” Craft, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, 1995, The Ohio State University, is a registered pharmacist and the co-owner with his wife, Robin, of Plain City Druggist and Midwestern Compounding Pharmacy in Plain City, Ohio. Joe previously worked for Wal-Mart before opening Plain City Druggist from scratch in 1999.
In 2007, the pharmacy moved from 1,000 square feet of space in downtown Plain City to a brand new facility off of Route 42 across from Der Dutchman Restaurant. The building houses both Plain City Druggist and Midwestern Compounding Pharmacy. A general practitioner’s office and a pediatrician’s office also complete the medical building with one additional suite not yet occupied.
Joe was the president of the Plain City Business Associtaion for 4 years. He is a member of the Plain City Lions Club, NCPA (National Community Pharmacist’s Association), and OPA (Ohio Pharmacist’s Association). In 2013, Joe was a finalist in the Next Generation Pharmacist Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He has also been honored by The Ohio State University’s College of Pharmacy with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013 and Preceptor of the Year in 2010. Plain City Druggist was named Small Business of the Year by the Union County Chamber of Commerce in 2005.
