Established January 1, 1993, The Jerome Township Division of Fire began operations with the primary responsibility of protecting life and property of the residents and visitors of Jerome Township. The Fire Division initially began operations with 3 firefighters,2 fulltime and 1 parttime, on duty at all times and two parttime chiefs.  The division has since grown to a daily staff of 4 firefighters working a 24/48 platoon style system with a fulltime fire chief working 40 hours a week.

Today, the fire division provides fire and ems services to the residents of Jerome and Millcreek Townships, with a strong emphasis on injury and fire prevention.  The division has constantly strived to keep up to date with equipment needs and has received several grants to update antiquated equipment.
