About the Road Division

Our Road Department responsibilities go above and beyond maintaining our roads.  Some of their responsibilities also include care and maintenance of the 30+ acres of grounds in our three cemeteries, four parks and the Veterans' Monument.

There are three cemeteries in Jerome Township: Jerome Cemetery, New California Cemetery and Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Care and maintenance of these cemeteries includes some of the following duties: Opening and closing graves, setting headstone foundations, putting up veteran’s markers and mowing and trimming trees and bushes.

The four township parks, which include Ryan Park, 736 Park, Harry Wolfe Park, and the Fire Station Park as well as the Veterans' Monument are also maintained by our Road Department.  Some of the duties with parks include mowing and lawn maintenance, and maintaining the playground equipment and the baseball fields.

The Jerome Township Road Department is responsible for plowing, salting, pothole patching and maintaining our township roads. They control sight problems by trimming trees and brush within the road rights-of-way for the safety of the township’s residents. They also handle some drainage repairs.

The Road Department employees and Board of Township Trustees work closely with the Union County Engineer’s Office to address larger projects such as repaving and traffic sign installation.
