Fiscal Officer

 

The Jerome Township Fiscal Officer is independent from the Township Trustees yet also an elected official and must work closely with the Township Trustees (see below)

The Township Fiscal Officer has specific duties set down by:

 Ohio Revised Code ORC 507.04A The township fiscal officer shall keep an accurate record of the proceedings of the board of township trustees at all of its meetings, and of all its accounts and transactions, including the acceptance of the bonds of township officers.  The township fiscal officer shall personally attend at least one meeting of the board during each quarter of every year, unless prevented by the occurrence of an emergency from attending. 

The Jerome Township fiscal officer is responsible to keep accurate record of all proceedings of the Board of Township Trustees including keeping the minutes, keeping the township records, overseeing the Township funds, and seeing that the money is spent in the best interest of the residents of Jerome Township and must comply with all legal requirements of his position.
